Did you know that muscle mass is linked to blood glucose regulation?

A good amount of muscle in the body supports blood glucose regulation

both in diagnosed diabetes and in the prevention of diabetes.

What can Nutristats do for you as a professional?

By being a regional center of expertise for metabolism, body composition and muscle strength measurements,

we make nutritional care more efficient, accessible and qualitatively stronger. Nutristats bridges the gap between science and practice, so that you as healthcare providers can make substantiated decisions based on assessments. With the results, you can guide your clients more specifically in working on their health.

Are there any ambiguities in achieving the treatment goals or are you looking for additional assessments for your diagnostics?

Then gain insight into body composition and function with our measurements.

The assessments can of course also be used as an evaluation of the treatment.

  • Indirecte calorimetrie (Q-NRG medical device)

The COSMED Q-NRG is a medical device used to measure a patient's energy consumption through indirect calorimetry. The device measures the amount of oxygen the patient inhales and the amount of carbon dioxide exhaled, which gives an indication of the body's energy needs.

  • Actometer (Activ8)

The Activ8 actometer is a wearable device used to measure a patient’s physical activity. The device records the patient’s movements throughout the day, which is useful for monitoring their physical activity and setting goals for health and recovery.

  • Bio-impedance (Bodystat 1500MDD)

The Bodystat 1500MDD is a device used to measure body composition, such as fat percentage, muscle mass, body water and other important parameters. It uses bioelectrical impedance measurement (BIA), where a small electrical current is sent through the body to measure resistance. Based on these measurements, the device can calculate how much fat, muscle and water is present in the body.

  • Handynamometer (Baseline digital)

The Baseline Digital Hand Dynamometer is a device used to measure handgrip strength. This is often done to assess the muscle strength in a patient's hands and forearms, which can be important for monitoring overall muscle function and health.

  • Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB)

The SPPB is a standardized test battery used to map the physical performance of clients, especially elderly or people with reduced mobility. The test consists of three parts:

  • Waist measurement, upper arm and calf circumference

All three measurements (waist circumference, upper arm circumference, and calf circumference) are valuable tools for healthcare professionals to monitor overall health, muscle and fat mass, and risk of malnutrition. These measurements are non-invasive, easy to perform, and provide useful data to evaluate patient health, tailor treatment plans, and identify risk factors for conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and muscle loss.

  • Nutrition check

Taking a reliable nutritional history is an essential step in evaluating a patient’s nutritional status. It provides healthcare professionals with valuable information to assess whether a patient is consuming adequate nutrients and whether malnutrition, overnutrition, or other nutrition-related health problems exist.
